Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC)
This is an amazing place. Visit and experience several Polynesian villages all in one place. To make the most for your money, show up right at opening time at 12:00 noon and visit ll the villages. Stay and dine at one of the luaus and the evening show.
Defined as "party" in the Hawaiian language, it's a must do in Hawaii, regardless of what island you're visiting. This particular luau is right on the beach. Enjoy the pre-activities such as making leis, hukilau and many more.
Go snorkeling in Hanauma Bay and see Hawaii's fish, marine life and living corals. Get there early to make sure you get parking. Bring your own underwater camera. I you don't have your own snorkel gear, no worries... you can rent it there.
Boogie Boarding
You can boogie board pretty much on any beach. For mild waves, visit the beaches in Waikiki. There are places in Waikiki to rent boards. For good waves, visit Bellows Air Force Station. If not military, no worries, you can drive there and boogie board on the beach outside the gate. Sorry, unless, you go on base, you won't be able to rent boards. Caution, Sandy Beach's slamming waves a few miles before Bellows may not be safe for children and those who don't swim well. Always monitor the weather reports for surf and tide reports; follow the warnings and listen to the life guards.
Swim with the Dolphins
Swim with the dolphins at Sea Life Park. It's rated #1 dolphin interactive experiences.
Visit the Beach
Hawaii is known for beautiful beaches. Regardless of which beach you go to, you're bound to have fun. Don't forget the sunscreen. My favorite beaches are: Koolina, Hanauma, Bellows, Sandy Beach (just to hang out, not swim), Hickam (for military).
Hike
There are nice hikes on Hawaii. An easy one for the whole family is the Diamond Head Hike. It has loose gravel and a little steep. Strollers and wheel chairs are not allowed. Young children may be able to complete this hike, but please watch your keikis (children) to make sure they stay on the trail, not wander away, fall off, or get hurt in some way.
